Industrial production techiniques and product design & Additive manufactering and circulair design
Year: Third Bachelor Year
Course: Designstudio & production
For this course we had two assignments. The first one was to redesign a product. You needed to redesign three parts so that they could be manufactured with three different techniques. For once we didn't need to think about feasibility or aerodynamics.
I redesigned the seating, the riggers and the boat. The techniques I used are Vacuum Casting, Reaction injection molding and Rotational molding.
For the second assignment we needed to think of an object that we throw away very easily. The goal was to redesign the object and make it more circular by using additive manufacturing. I chose a Clothes spin because a lot of people don't assemble it again after it is disassembled. I designed it so you could implement your name. Then you could use it to keep papers together, keep your earphones together, Christmas lights...
To make it I used an FDM printer.
At the end of those two projects we needed to make a portfolio of this. You can see it on top of this page.
