Making a water cooker smart with Arduino
Year: Second Bachelor Year
Course: Shaping, Use and Industrial Design
The goal of this assignment was to implement technology in an kitchen used device. I chose a water cooker. We had to redesign the form and implement technology.
I wanted to redesign the cooker so it can be used both as a coffee machine and as a water cooker. In that way people could spare place it their kitchen.
The idea is that people can chose the time they want their water, the volume and temperature and even the date. This can be done with an app (movie below). I used a Servo, Piezzo, RGB led and Level sensor to achieve this.
Note: The assignment was all about the interface and learning how to work with an Arduino. I couldn't couple the app with the Arduino and setting the time was not possible with the limited skills at the time.
